Bastrop Bound (and the travels to/from)

Antelope season has come and gone, and with just one hunt (Mule deer) remaining this year, SR and I are settled back in.  Chase hosts the guides, so a perfect opportunity arose for us to venture in and out of the Lone Star State for a couple of weeks.

A detour to Mesquite to see SR's great-grandparents only lasted a day before forging on to my parents' Rosanky abode.  I got to see a couple of my best gals and fill up on BBQ and Tex-Mex (a completely different cuisine from the New Mexican "mexican").  On our return, we spent the night at my uncle's home in Bowie.  Kinsler, SR's senior cousin by 3 months, is so grown up!  I cannot imagine my little bug running around in just a few months.

My uncle and cousin (bless their hearts), took us back to the ranch.  They only stayed one day, which they had to work fixing a chute and pushing cattle so I could preg check a herd.  Those two also got to help set up for the second hunt weekend... how lucky??!  Off they went, bull in tow, back to Bowie the next day.

There's a hummus among us.  Thanks Diner!

Just try that sweet potato again.

  1. Thanks momma! It's for you far-away family/friends, so enjoy while you are still "far-away".
